Sleep please!!!

Still trying to get off that evil Ambien. My doc at VA has prescribed me something called Atarax/Vistoril which is supposedly one that doesn't create a tolerance and is actually used more for severe allergies and stress, but has a sedating effect. Like Benadryl but stronger. If I could ever get the dang stuff through the mail (yeah I should have just waited the three hours at the VA) I'd feel better.

As Tommy once said "do not let your doc give you this drug!!". I've been trying to wean off it for two weeks now and still can't get any decent sleep. So bad today I am "slap happy"..Arghhh

Anemia!!
[info]trapezegirl65
Got blood work results today. Severe anemia and deficient in Vitamen C. That explains the exhaustion. Also, ironically anemia can cause insomnia. Haven't slept more than 2 or three hours a day for over a week. No wonder.

Mom treated me to a steak dinner tonight. 7 ounce medium rare top sirloin "Pittsburgh Style". I was in heaven!

I've never had to an animal down EVER. My Mom had three cats, one Maine Coon "Hoot" that lived to 21, another kitty that lived to 19 "Mattie", and a little grey kitty "Bones" that lived to only 13 I think. She said the first time she went in with "Hoot", but she couldn't handle the other two times. You're right about the decision process. I've got to get Snowy to a vet. I can tell she has bad arthritis, and she crys when I pick her up. She still purrs all the time, but I've heard that some cats will do that when they are in pain. I'm hoping she'll be okay. She still actually plays sometimes, still baths herself, and even loves on me. It's just going to break my heart if I have to let her go because she's been with me so long. And your babies were with you for 18 years, even longer. Thanks for the advice. Obviously at some point, I'm going to have to make that difficult decison..

Oh my God..no! My kitty..

Just posted a response to [info]pattinthehatt re: her friend that is having to put a pet down. My snowflake has been getting sick, has arthitus, and is hiding in closets and under the couch. Well she just now threw up green stuff. I can't even afford to take her to the vet because I'm unemployed - maybe I can get a discount for being considered "low income". I'm scared she's getting really sick and may need to be put down. Like I told [info]pattinthehatt, I've never had to put a pet down and between the depression and my love for her, I don't know if I'll be able to handle it. I'm crying right now worrying about her. I guess it's a good thing I don't have a job since I probably would cry my eyes out for days. God, I hope she's okay. She's been throwing up a lot of hairballs so maybe I just need to get that stuff (forget what it's called) to help with those..I feel like crap now, like I jinxed mysefl:(
